Fragility analysis of concrete elevated water tanks under seismic loads

چکیده

The design of concrete elevated water tanks involves several kinds uncertainties. Traditionally, the these structures is based on a deterministic analysis. Partial safety factors prescribed in codes are applied to take into account uncertainties and ensure sufficiently safe design. However, this approach does not allow rational evaluation risk related structural failure consequently its reliability. In fact, partial can lead over-designed structures; or under designed components leading lack robustness. study, probabilistic Monte Carlo simulations used analyze reliability submitted hazard seismic loading. This approach, takes mainly two parameters. Firstly, hydraulic charge tank container which function time, secondly, loading through Peak Ground Acceleration considered as random variable. Fragility curves depending zones soil types obtained by using where they demonstrate dominant modes that cause with respect different levels, height level container.
